0001》Singapore, a new chapter!

a·dapt

/əˈdapt/

would be the best "verb" to describe what I've been constantly challenged to do this past one month plus. Never did I expect that settling into a neighbouring country, literally a stone throw away would require this much of effort. Day one itself, just by noticing the walking speed of the locals, it creeps me out. Seriously! My one step = their many steps. (Just read somewhere that Singaporeans are the fastest walkers in the world... geeezzz)

My journey to Singapore is definitely God given, guided and provided for. From my job, what I do, where I live, the family I stay with, the public transportation (absolutely in love as my legs suffered enough damage driving from klang-kl daily for the past year), the church, the new friends, having my bestie from school as my weekly date, fast efficient service, high speed internet, have time to read due to mrt rides, cheap data plans, safe and very bery clean sidewalks, and not forgetting my recent obsession over avocados.

On the other hand, I equally struggle being physically far from my family, mummy doing laundry, my weekend family dinner, having no car which means walking walking walking, missing all the hanging out sessions with friends, wierd crazy residents at work, very sad allocation of public holidays (ill never ever take Malaysian public holidays for granted), constant MYR-SGD conversion calculation going on in my head when I decide to buy something, anything, lack of mamak stalls, and lately major hair loss. MAJOR!

I also realised in this short period of time, how much I depend on whatsapp, viber and skype. So to whoever the brilliant creators of all these life-saving apps, thank you!!!

Nevertheless, all thanksgiving to God for the opportunity and His favour and I look forward to making the best of my time here. I'm already much neater *ahem* and I don't need an alarm clock nowadays to begin with! Hehe! I'll also be making time to travel every nook and corner of sg and obviously start food hunting for good food - which you can follow at www.mytummysays.blogspot.com
